Art is Process -
When we are free to make mistakes, experience flow state, and play, we deepen our problem solving skills, learn resourcefulness, and develop a sense of personal identity & self confidence.
Art is Pollination -
When we challenge ourselves to see the world from another person's perspective, we grow empathy and gain a sense of belonging. We unlock new skills and are able to imagine further than we can on our own.
Art is Public -
Our communities benefit immensely when our kids are allowed to add their voices, imaginations, and vision to the public dialogue. There is a rich wisdom to be gained when kids are seen, heard, and taken seriously.
Kids need to find their own way - When we provide a safe space to experiment (and get out of the way as adults) kids find their artistic groove! We come along side with support and encouragement, following their lead.
Kids need to play - We prioritize play as a tool for growing our creativity, problem-solving, and empathy. We encourage kids to follow their intuitions and personal aesthetics.
Kids need full bellies - We acknowledge that more than 1 in 4 kids live in food-insecure households. We want to be a part of the solution by providing snacks to everyone who attends, and also by donating a percentage back to mutal aid food programs in Pictou County.
Kids need belonging - We aim to create space for kids to feel brave to explore themselves. We welcome all kids, especially those who are part of marginalized communities. We prioritize building relationships and trust with our campers over programming. Always.
