Messy Week was a great way to kick off our summer. We learned how to make our own spiced play-dough. We took our cartoon faces for spaghetti haircuts. We even painted with frozen blueberries!
Messy art scratches the itch for younger campers who tend to be big on sensory input. They are fearless and enthusiastic to try anything we throw at them. Always a blast!
Junk Week! We scavenged our own paint brushes, made windchimes from clinky household items, and spent a good chunk of the week building a castle out of recycling! Campers threw themselves into the construction and decoration of their amazing buildings, which showed a real sense of focus and committment that was really impressive. Campers were so excited to share them with the grownups at our weekly art show! We couldn't be more proud!
Story Week! This was for our older kids (9-12 years). We explored characters, puppets, masks and costumes, and spent a lot of time mixing potions in our mud kitchen. This group was imaginative, creative, and an easy laugh! Thanks for a great and goofy week, campers!!
We ended the summer on a bang with our second Junk Week! We reused paper scraps from previous art camp weeks, making super hero masks and collages. We had fun playing with scrap textiles while circle weaving, and explored three dimensional sculpture while painting recycled cardboard collages. Our campers dove in head first, creating some really incredible works which they proudly displayed at the end of the week. The perfect end to an amazing summer!
